Apprentice Engineer
(4 - 6 years)

Early literacy through LEGO projects and interactive software

Endless learning fun as we develop your child’s imagination, motor skills and literacy! LEGO® DUPLO and hands-on activities provide exercise for little fingers, an important component in developing writing skills. These activities also introduce children to simple mechanical concepts and practice in following directions and thinking creatively. Children will also gain exposure to computer activities via their own CTWorkshop laptop through the CTWorkshop Skill Builder software, comprising fun and educational literacy and numeracy games, specially designed by CTWorkshop early childhood experts in Canada.

Engineer
(6 - 12 years)

LEGO building projects and endless learning fun!

Engineering workshops introduce kids to simple machines through fun and challenging LEGO® projects. Students explore and investigate topics such as gears, levers, pulleys, wheels & axles and structures & forces, as they construct a variety of mechanisms using educational Technic LEGO®. By the end of the workshops, children will have an understanding of these mechanical concepts and their real-life applications. Children who have completed Junior Engineer move on to Senior and Master Engineer programs, where they will build more complex and advanced mechanisms. All students will be eligible to enter the much anticipated annual CTWorkshop ‘BattleBot Challenge’.

Gamemaker

Don’t just play them, create and share your own video games!

Gamemaker workshops teach students the fundamentals of video game design through five different levels: Junior Midway, Senior Maze, Master Platform, Master Rescue and 3D. Students will work through interactive Adobe Flash tutorials developed by the Children’s Technology Workshop. By the end of the workshops, students will have created and compiled a portfolio of their own (non-violent) games to take home. All students will be eligible to enter the CTWorkshop Gamemaker contest to vie for the title of ‘Gamemaker Guru’…

NXT Robotics

Build your own robot and challenge other robots!

Join the NXT generation! A dedicated club where children are challenged to build, program and control robots with the latest LEGO® Mindstorms NXT 2.0 technology. Learn how to build robust powered mechanisms and control robotic creations through computer programming. Create intelligent mechanisms that react to stimuli (e.g. touch, sight or sound). Challenge and compete with other robots to see which creation is stronger, quicker or smarter. All students will be eligible to enter the much anticipated CTWorkshop annual ‘BattleBot Challenge’. Let the Battle begin…
